Born in 1972 in Dublin, Ireland, Ciarán McCoy, also known by his alter ego "PIGSY," has over 20 years experience as an artist. A trained architect, PIGSY combines his architectural precision with his personal experiences that aims to deconstruct traditional paradigms through a blend of intuitive gestures, raw, and aggressive techniques. Utilizing an array of mediums such as acrylic and oil paint, oil sticks, spray paint, and charcoal, PIGSY often integrates discarded studio objects, embracing imperfection and spontaneity. This approach contrasts with the rigidity of architectural design, reflecting his journey and philosophy in an attempt to engage in a dialogue that transcends conventional boundaries, fostering a deeper understanding of the self and society.
