Brief Description: I Like Toast was created as part of Pigsy’s Lost in Thought exhibition. Moving from left to right, the painting is playful yet reflective: the left side bursts with colour, mapping the brain’s psychological and sensory reactions, while the right side pares things back to simple words and drawings.
The colours themselves heighten the idea of pleasure, reds suggest warmth and desire, blues calm and reflection, yellows joy and optimism, and greens balance and renewal. Together they create a sensory map of the mind, before dissolving into the simplicity of words: “I like toast with a cup of tea.”
At its heart, the work reminds us that joy is often found not in grand gestures, but in the small rituals that steady and delight us.
