              "Sacred Words"
Artwork Details:
Dimensions: 54 cm H x 81 cm W
Materials: Mixed Media (Acrylic, Oil Paint, Spray Paint, Oil Pastels, Marker, Pencil, Marker and Glue)on Canvas
Description:
This work from the Language as Wound, Silence as War series continues PIGSY’s exploration of how language shapes emotion, connection, and repair. Each mark, gesture, and fragment of text captures the tension between expression and silence, where words carry weight long after they are spoken. Layers of paint are scraped, scrawled, and reworked, revealing the residue of communication: what’s said, what’s withheld, and what remains unsaid.
The composition oscillates between vulnerability and defiance, using vivid colour contrasts to mirror the psychological terrain of apology, conflict, and reconciliation. Thorns, crosses, and abstract figures emerge and dissolve within the surface, suggesting both injury and renewal. The raw immediacy of the work reflects PIGSY’s intuitive process, created in moments of isolation and silence during his residency with La Casa Amarilla in Málaga, where subconscious imagery surfaced into form.
