Reflecting on a Remarkable Year: PIGSY Art’s 2025 Journey

As another transformative year comes to a close, I’m grateful to share the milestones, exhibitions, creative breakthroughs, and global connections that marked 2025. This annual review is my way of celebrating the highlights — and the people who experienced the work with me — while offering a record of where PIGSY art has travelled, exhibited, and evolved.

Global Exhibitions & Art Events — Key PIGSY 2025 Highlights

2025 was a year full of artistic conversation and international presence. From Ireland to Spain and Mexico, my work reached new audiences and participated in diverse art spaces, showcasing a range of expressive, emotional, and dynamic contemporary pieces. Artist PIGSY

“Níl Brón Orm” — Solo Rooftop Exhibition in Ajijic, Mexico

The year began with one of my most memorable solo exhibitions, “Níl Brón Orm” (I’m Not Sorry), presented at 360XQMX Gallery in Ajijic, Mexico on January 25, 2025. Set against panoramic views of Lake Chapala, this rooftop show continued my ongoing Sorry Series — exploring liberation, vulnerability, and emotional honesty — and captured both local and international attention.

RAMA Exhibition for Noche en Blanco, Málaga, Spain

In May, I participated in RAMA, a vibrant multidisciplinary street and graphic art celebration during Noche en Blanco 2025 at Centro Cultural La Malagueta in Málaga, Spain. This dynamic group project brought together over 140 artists and connected urban aesthetics with contemporary conversation across cultural boundaries.

Selected for the Inaugural Hunt Museum Open Submission, Ireland

In November 2025, I was honoured to have my work chosen for the Hunt Museum’s first ever Open Submission exhibition in Limerick — a major landmark in Irish contemporary art. This inclusion, in a nationally recognised museum space, was a highlight of the year and a moment of proud recognition for my practice in Ireland.

Solo Show “Language as Wound, Silence as War” — Dublin

Back in Ireland, I brought my Automatic Apology Trilogy to Dublin with the solo exhibition “Language as Wound, Silence as War” at Fade Street Studios on 21 November 2025. This one night event offered a deeply expressive continuation of the trilogy, uniting themes of language, silence, conflict, and emotional exposure.

PIÑA 2025 at La Casa Amarilla — Malaga Group Exhibition

Closing out the year, I was featured in PIÑA 2025 — the annual group exhibition at La Casa Amarilla in Málaga. Returning to this vibrant creative community continued an artistic relationship that has grown stronger since my first shows in Spain, and it was an honour to contribute to this international contemporary art showcase.

Ireland, Spain & Mexico — A Global Artistic Triad

2025 was defined by movement — both physically and conceptually. Between the studios of Ajijic, México, the streets and galleries of Málaga, Spain, and the heart of Dublin’s creative scene, my work evolved through context, culture, and collaboration.

Whether it was creating large gestural spray-paint pieces for “Níl Brón Orm” or presenting emotionally charged canvases in Dublin, the year was rich with contrasts — a reflection of how art can be both personal and universal.

Artistic Evolution & Creative Developments

Evolving the Sorry Series

The thread that tied much of 2025 together was the continuation of my Sorry Series — from “Níl Brón Orm” in Mexico to its reflective echoes in Dublin’s “Language as Wound, Silence as War”. This body of work continues to explore vulnerability, accountability, identity, liberation, and the emotional impact of the seemingly simple word Sorry.

Community, Collaboration & New Audiences

This year, my art resonated with new audiences, from street art lovers in Málaga to collectors and visitors in Ireland and Mexico. The PIGSY art world continues to be a space of exchange and each exhibition reaffirms the power of creative conversations across cultures and disciplines.

Growth in Reach & Engagement

Across exhibitions and collaborations, PIGSY art reached collectors, new supporters, and curious viewers worldwide. Works were displayed in dynamic contemporary contexts, fostering engagement and inviting interpretation across cultural borders.

Looking Ahead — Intentions for 2026

As I step into 2026, I’m filled with gratitude — for every curator, art lover, visitor, collector, and fellow artist who interacted with PIGSY art in 2025. The year ahead holds new exhibitions, deeper explorations, and more opportunities to grow, question, and create work that resonates honestly and boldly. For now I look forward to presenting my work in Mexico at Clavo Ocho, with Casa Lu, during Mexico City Art Week which is exciting for me and a great opportunity for me personally to connect again with Mexico where I will travel to for the show in Mexico City and then go onwards to the banks of Lake Chapala where I feel spiritually drawn to Ajijic.

Thank you for being part of this journey — here’s to another year of colour, connection, and culture.

PIGSY

Fascinated by the human psyche, I confront the beasts gnawing at my mind through gestural painting. As a member of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland, my work is a deconstruction process, delving into subconscious layers with every stroke. By capturing these spontaneous moments I attempt to repair inner scars.
